The Gulmarg Gondola, at nearly 13,000 feet, is the world’s tallest running cable car. It is famous not just for its name, but also for its feat!. The views from the automobiles are just breathtaking. You can’t take your gaze away from the scenery and lush green beauty.

Gulmarg’s main attraction is its Gondola cable car ride, which is the world’s second tallest and longest of its kind. It is an utterly captivating event that should not be overlooked while planning your vacation schedule. The journey is divided into two parts, with the first taking you from Gulmarg Resort to Kongdoori Station, the center point, and the second taking you from Kongdoori Mountain to Apharwat Peak.

You can also enjoy breathtaking views of the Nanda Devi and Pir Panjal Ranges. Other activities like horseback riding and skiing are also available.

Gulmarg biosphere reserve

The Gulmarg biosphere reserve is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including some extremely rare species. It covers an area of 180-square-kilometre and is roughly 48 kilometres from Srinagar. The musk deer of this biosphere is the main attraction here, which attracts many tourists. As you travel deeper into the forest, you may see brown bears, hangul, leopard, black bear, red fox, and various fauna such as upland birds.

Apart from green plants that offer the area a verdant scenic appearance, the vegetation is mostly dominated by towering conifers. It is open for tourists and visitors every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and adventure seekers can choose to stay in nearby camps. The reserve’s beauty and attraction increase dramatically from March to June when the flowers are in full bloom, and it becomes a birdwatcher’s paradise.

Strawberry valley

Do you love strawberries? What about a visit to valleys full of it? The Strawberry Valley in Gulmarg is full of lush green meadows with vivid red fruits dotting the landscape. The clear blue skies above contrast the beautiful green plants and red strawberries. The strawberry valley is a little off the main road. The summer season is the busiest in the valley, as it is the season for harvest. A trip to the Garden of Eden is made much more captivating by the abundance of ripe red strawberries. Tourists are permitted to walk among strawberry rows.

Seven springs

Seven Springs is a large stream with seven separate water outputs and is one of the best sites to see magnificent natural scenery and experience Gulmarg’s adventures. The fact that you can see both the Srinagar and Gulmarg valleys from Seven Springs is particularly why it is so famous. It is situated on a hillside in Kongdori and has spring water that never freezes.

Taking a Gondola cable ride from the base of Apharwat Mountain is the best way to get to Seven Springs. The area will take you about 1 to 2 hours to explore, and there are several small eateries and Dhabas around the area where you can enjoy an authentic meal.

Alpather lake

Alpather Lake is a high-altitude lake in Gulmarg, situated between the twin Apharwat Peaks. It is known as Frozen Lake from November to June because it is fully frozen. It is well-known for the one-day journey that begins in Gulmarg and covers over 13 kilometres.

The one-day journey from Gulmarg to Alpather Lake follows the Gulmarg – Khilanmarg – Apharwat Ridge – Alpather Lake route, which is somewhat tough. Gorgeous flowers and trees surround the lake during the summer, which will be an eye treat.
