Posted by

During this summer months, you must go for the Yatra walk over the south Kashmir Himalayan highlands to take blessings in the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji following yatra guidelines by Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board. The Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji is where the image of Lord Shiva, in the form of a Lingam, is naturally created of ice stalagmite and waxes and wanes with the moon attracting the pious flock during the month of Shravan (July–August).

Shri Amarnath Yatra lasts for a particular amount, usually starting on the auspicious Hindu holiday of Skandshasthi and ending on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan). Every year, on March 1st, registration for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra opens.

About SASB

The Shri Amarnath ji Shrine Board (SASB) was established by the Jammu & Kashmir State Legislature in 2000. His Excellency, the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, serves as the ex-officio Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), which was established by an act of the Jammu & Kashmir State Legislature in 2000.

According to the SASB-issued Guidelines for Group Registration for the Shri Amarnath Yatra, intending yatri groups can register. Since last year, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has also offered “Group Registration” to make reporting easier for pilgrims who want to go with friends, family, or neighbors. The Group Registration is open for a specified amount of time.

  • From the start of the Yatra till its conclusion on Raksha Bandhan each year, the Yatra timetable, which the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board previously determined, is meticulously adhered to.
  • Every year, the SASB is advised by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board’s Sub Committee regarding the precise timetable, including the length of the Shri Amarnath Yatra, taking into consideration many elements, including the Hindu calendar, weather, clearing the trip of snow, etc.
  • According to the current-carrying capacity of the tracks, the presence of infrastructure in the Yatra area, and other pertinent factors, it was decided to enable 7500 pilgrims to register for the Shri Amarnath Yatra – 2018 each day and per route, but this does not include Yatris. They would use either of the helicopter routes to Panjtarni.
  • The Amarnathji Shrine Board is in charge of improving the management of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, upgrading the amenities for revered pilgrims, and handling any issues related to or incidental. The board is continually working to make this journey the most treasured one with assistance from a Chief Executive Official, a senior IAS officer, and eight renowned Board Members.

You must also know that for the Shri Amarnath Yatra, the SASB has established a procedure to allow NRI and ex-Indian pilgrims to register. This facility was created because many overseas devotees participated in this yearly Yatra.
