This beautiful man-made waterfall plunges approximately 50 feet below and mystifies the surroundings with its flowing waters. The palace was built in the sixteenth century by the Travancore dynasty’s Ravipillai Perumal and served as the official residence of the Travancore Kings. The lotus “Padma” sprouted from Lord Vishnu’s navel and inspired the palace’s name.

It is one of the most important historical sites in Kanyakumari. The palace is decorated with numerous fine teak and rosewood wood sculptures. The palace’s historical significance and wonder are enhanced by earthen lamps and urns, antiquated murals, elaborate sculptures on the walls, ornate Belgian mirrors, melodic bows, and distinctive painted ceilings.
