Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated globally as non-violence day and much valued in India as Mahatma Gandhi was born on this day. The father of the Nation is also the originator of Satyagraha and Ahimsa movement.

The National Holiday is observed on Gandhi Jayanti. The day is celebrated with prayer services, memorial as well as ceremony services, people gather in their localities and organizations to mark the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi. His favorite bhajan is sung by people who gather “Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram ''

Mahatma Gandhi, originally known as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869. He lived in a small white-washed house in Porbandar at Kathiawad. After passing high school Gandhi ji left for England for further education.
