1. Taragarh Fort

This fort was built by Ajaypal Chauhan and it was earlier called as Ajaymeru Durg.This fort was built to safeguard the city of Ajmer and it was the main home of Chauhan Dynasty. It is one of the oldest forts in India and from this fort, the city of Ajmer is clearly visible.

It is also known as Star Fort. If you want to reach to this place and keep your trip economical, take a shared taxi from the railway station. This fort is open all days from Monday to Sunday, 9 AM to 7 PM.

In 1024 A.D., Mohammad Ghazni attacked the fort but he failed in his ambition. There are three gateways to this fort that are almost in ruined state. There is also a dedicated shrine to Miran Sahib on this fort.

2. Adhai Din Ka Jhonpda

This used to be an ancient Sanskrit College which was later on converted into a mosque by a Mughal emperor. The walls of this structure has beautiful calligraphy that are very pleasing to the eyes and it also has ancient temple relics that represent Hindu architecture.

3. Foy Sagar Lake

This structure was built in 1892 by Mr. Foy who was an English engineer. The sunset view from this place is really breathtaking and going here should spend the evening and experience the stillness of the water, enjoy the fresh air, take some pictures, etc.

This fort was created to tackle bad situations created due to famine. To reach to this place, one can take a taxi or a cab from the nearest station. It is open on all days, 6am to 7pm.

4. Ana Sagar Lake

This is an artificial lake and one of the most famous tourist attractions in Ajmer. It is a perfect spot to spend time with your friends and family. The sunset looks amazing from this place and this lake was built by the Maharaja Anaji. It lies on Anasagar Circular Road in Ajmer and is open on all days from 8am to 8pm.

If you want to enjoy boat ride, it shall cost you INR 160 per person. And to reach to this place, take a taxi or a cab from the nearest station.

5. Nareli Jain Temple

It is built using marbles and is a remarkable example of mixture of contemporary and traditional architectural styles. It is also called Shri Gyanodaya Tirth Kshetra. This place is very quite and serene and offers a wonderful experience.

6. Ajmer Sharif Dargah

It is a Sufi tomb and is related to Sunni sect of Islam. It has been dedicated to Moinuddin Chisti. It is just 2km from main Ajmer Railway station.It is revered by Hindu community as well and visitors offer chaddar to the shrine.

7. Prithviraj Smarak

It is a great memorial dedicated to the Rajput ruler, Prithviraj Chauhan. It is located on a hill-top and the view of the valley below is very beautiful. This particular statue is made using black stone and Prithviraj Chauhan has been shown sitting on a horse with bow and arrow. It lies on Taragarh Rd, Lajpat Nagar, Ajmer and one can reach here via cab, taxi or public transport.

8. Ajmer Clock Tower

This tower is quite popular amongst the tourists and is located near Ajmer Railway Station. It was built to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. It has four sides and the balconies offer a great view of the city. It lies on NH 8, Parao, Ajmer and is open 24*7.

9. Government Museum

It is a storehouse of historical knowledge and best suited for people who are into history of India. It has numerous artefacts of Akbar’s rule and is divided into many section based on themes, art and craft. There are also various paintings and sculptures kept on display.

It is open from 12pm to 8:30pm and one can reach here via cab or taxi.

10. Durga Bagh Gardens

This beautiful garden is located just beside the Ana Sagar Lake and it was built by Maharaja Shiv Dan in 1868 AD. The garden is surrounded by meadows and the view is remarkable.

To reach to this place, one can take a taxi or a cab. The entry to this garden is free for everybody it is open on all days from 6 AM to 8:30 PM.
